Takao graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University School of Accountancy in 2005 and earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Kyoto University in 2006. He has successfully passed all sections of the CPA exam and is currently in the process of obtaining his license.
He began his professional career at a Big 4 accounting firm in Tokyo, where he was involved in financial advisory (FAS) projects including post-merger integration (PMI) and business due diligence. He then transitioned into corporate finance roles across both Japanese and international companies, gaining broad experience in financial management, corporate planning, and cost accounting.
Takao specializes in cost accounting and standard cost management within the manufacturing industry (plant finance). He has extensive experience with SAP-based standard costing, month-end cost module closing, and unit price recalculation based on budget data. With strong bilingual communication skills, he is well-versed in preparing materials and engaging with clients in both English and Japanese.
In 2024, Takao rejoined our firm, where he had previously interned, bringing with him a strong foundation in both public accounting and in-house finance. He primarily supports Japanese individuals and businesses based in the United States by providing tax preparation and bookkeeping services. Known for his clear and logical explanations, Takao is committed to addressing each client’s concerns with care and attention, making tax matters approachable even for those unfamiliar with U.S. tax rules.
He currently resides in Saitama, Japan.
During the off-season, he also teaches accounting at some professional schools, and enjoys playing music on the weekends.
